2011 - 12 JV Softball Games Summary
The Falls City Tigers JV softball team finished the season 8-1. In the final game of the season at Syracuse, the Tigers won 4-2. Sophomore Brooke Scheitel went 3-3 with 3 runs batted in. Freshman Sydney Armbruster struck out six Rockets in six strong innings of pitching.
At Savannah, the JV squad beat the Savages 8-1. Armbruster went 3-3 with a walk, Scheitel added 2 hits, and sophomore Emily Weaver also had 2 hits in the game. Armbruster pitched another gem by only allowing the Savages four hits in five innings of work.
In a tough home game against Cass County Central, the Tigers came back from a 3-run deficit to defeat the Crush 7-4. Junior Jennifer Wendtlandt went 2-3 with 2 runs batted in, and sophomore Haley Cochran went 2-2 with 2 runs scored. Armbruster struck out six batters in five innings in the victory.
In the game against St. Joe Lafayette, the JV won 10-2. Armbruster, Weaver, and sophomore Brittany Ritter each contributed two hits to the offensive barrage for the Tigers.
For the season, Weaver went 12 for 18 and led the Tiger JV in hitting with a .667 batting average and a .714 on base percentage. On the mound, Armbruster struck out 36 batters in her 8 victories for the season.
