School groups raise money for Haiti
"Hats for Haiti" campaigns raised $1,059.70 at the four FCPS schools. North School, South School, and Middle School had "Hats for Haiti" on Friday, February 5. High School held the "Hats for Haiti" all week during February 1 - 5. If a student wanted to wear a hat at school, they had to pay $1. Each dollar that was contributed will be donated to Haiti relief work. Falls City Student Council sponsored the high school donation drive, and Falls City Education Association sponsored it at the other three buildings.
All donations will be given to Thrivent for Lutherans because they are adding $1 for every $2 raised for Haiti relief. The school groups chose to go through Thrivent because of their matching funds and since all the money goes directly to Haiti–none of it is spent on administrative costs.
