Hogue chosen to lead all-star team
This summer, Falls City High School Head Boys' Basketball Coach Don Hogue will lead the Best (Top 10) Sophomores. His assistant will be Jimmy Motz from Sterling. The coaches were selected by a group of Nebraska retired and current head coaches. "I was really excited to be able to coach other student athletes from across Nebraska," stated Coach Hogue after his selection as coach of the Nebraska all-stars.
Nine of the ten players on the team have played in the State Tournament. The boys were chosen out of all of the sophomores in Nebraska to be the top ten players. Coach Hogue said, "The talent who were at the tryout in March was very solid. It was very difficult to pick only ten to compete this summer."
The first tournament for the all-star team will be the Jayhawk Classic in Lawrence, KS, on May 1-3. From July 6-8, Hogue will coach the team at a tournament in Indianapolis, IN. From there, they will fly to Tulsa, OK, to play in a tourney July 9-11. The team will then take a charter bus to Kansas City, KS, for a tournament from July 12-15. |
