Honor society inducts new members

High school juniors and sophomores who qualified academically for the National Honor Society applied and were chosen by faculty members to meet the four qualities of Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service.
On Thursday, March 26, 2009, 21 new members were inducted into the Falls City High School Chapter of the National Honor Society. The program began with an introduction and history of National Honor Society led by the principal and National Honor Society sponsor Gale Dunkhas.
Following the introduction, the four qualities – Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service – were read by the current National Honor Society officers. The officers are Courtney DeKlotz, president; Hannah Thompson, vice-president; Morgan Hodge, secretary; and Sydney Schwarting, treasurer. The induction pledge was then recited and cards and pins were distributed. The ceremony was closed with a few words from Mr. Gale Dunkhas.
The new inductees include juniors Josh Butrick, Hannah Cooper, Tonya Davis, Casey Gerdes, Amanda Gill, Katie Harris, Aimee Hillyard, Sam Kendall, Rodney Mount, Justina Strecker, and Jared Yoesel. The sophomore inductees are Logan Faller, Ethan Fritz, Trevor Harling, Julie Kopf, Lisa Kopf, Alexa Lampe, Haylee Olberding, Skylar Olberding, Dillion Scott, and Rachel Stevens.
Cake and punch was served by the National Honor Society officers following the ceremony.
