FCHS teacher receives art grant
Falls City High School art instructor Patricia Steinman was awarded a $800 Laurine Kimmel Art Grant for a Pierced Paper Drawings project. The grant is funded by the Richard P. Kimmel and Laurine Kimmel Charitable Foundation.
As part of the grant project, students in FCHS art classes will select an original picture or photo. The picture will be scanned. Students will sketch it and shade it with pencils. The focal or most important part of the picture will be cut out with a stencil knife and replaced with colored construction paper. Colored and graphite pencils will be used to shade the cutout section.
Grant funds will be used to purchase Prismacolor pencils and colored construction paper. They will also buy a computer table and display panels for the art work. |
