Life Skills students spend a day on the farm

During the Life Skills field trip, Kenny Rider combines some corn with Richard Malcolm.
The students from the Life Skills program took a field trip to Dunn's Pumpkin Patch and to the Richard and Betty Malcolm farm on Tuesday, October 21. While on the trip, they got to bottle-feed the baby calves and milk a cow. They also saw goats, rabbits, pigs, and baby kittens.

This field trip was in conjunction with a seasonal unit study of fall and harvesting of corn. Richard Malcolm demonstrated how the corn is harvested with his combine and then took some of the students on a ride. The Dunn's petting zoo offered students a chance to interact with the farm animals. They also played a variety of outdoor games and each received a pumpkin to take home.
