Administration announces another change

At the School Board meeting on March 8, the board announced two more calendar changes. Because of snow days and no school due to the State Basketball Tournament, students will have school on Monday, April 5, and Monday, May 3. Those days were supposed to be teacher inservice days.

Following the boys' basketball team's qualification in the State Basketball Tournament, the Falls City Public Schools board and administration announced that there would be no school on Thursday, March 11. The FCHS team's first game in the tournament is at 10:45 A.M. on March 11 at Pershing Auditorium.

If the team wins, they will play on Friday, March 12, at 9:00 A.M. at the Devaney Sport Center and there will be no school. An announcement will come on the SchoolReach messaging system if and when a decision about Friday's school closing is made.

The school board also determined that if there is also no school on March 12, the students' school year will be lengthened by one day. There will be a full school day on Thursday, May 20, and the last day of school will be Friday, May 21, with a two-hour-early dismissal.
