Ivey wins Three-point Contest;
Tigers win Raider Tournament
Brooks Ivey won the Seneca Lions Club Three-point Contest held during the Raider Classic Tournament in Seneca, KS. He made eight out of ten three-point shots to win the contest during half-time of the championship game on Saturday, January 23. Dillon Lotter placed second by making seven out of ten shots in the finals. The Falls City High School seniors were selected as the two finalists after a preliminary round on Tuesday, January 19. Placing fifth in the contest was another FCHS senior, Trent Scheitel. He tied for fifth by making six out of ten three-point shots during the preliminary round.
The Falls City Tigers boys' basketball team won their third tournament championship of the 2009-10 season during the Raider Classic Tournament in Seneca, KS. In the first round on Tuesday, January 19, the second-seeded Tigers beat Nemaha Valley, KS, 40 - 35. On Thursday, January 21, they advanced to the finals by winning over St. Marys, KS, 49 - 36. In the championship game, the FCHS boys' basketball team beat first-seeded Hiawatha, KS, 52 - 38. It was only the Red Hawks' second loss of the season, both of them to the Tigers. |
