Good Date/Bad Date presentation announced;
WAIT program will be given by Shelly Donahue

Parents are an extremely influential factor in their children’s decision making. They play a major role in helping influence them to make healthy choices concerning sexual relationships. Unfortunately, many parents are unaware or doubt their own persuasive potential.

With this in mind, the W.A.I.T. (Why Am I Tempted) committee of Falls City is pleased to once again have the privilege of hosting Shelly Donahue, WAIT Training founder and presenter. WAIT training is a program currently used in both schools that teaches abstinence, marriage preparation and character and relationship development.

Ms. Donahue will be presenting two parent/ community programs at the Falls City High School gym on Monday, November 30 at 7 P.M. and on Tuesday, December 1, at 7 P.M. The Tuesday night presentation will be a faith-based program. Shelly’s presentation will be entitled, “Good Date/Bad Date.” This presentation is a new topic to Falls City and coordinates with the other two presentations Shelly has shared in both 2006 and 2008.

Through her presentation Ms. Donahue hopes to encourage parents and other community members to take a more active role in their children’s sexual education. She wants to remind parents that discussions of faith and values in their personal interaction with their students can bring dramatic changes to their homes and to this community. Ms. Donahue’s third visit to Falls City will include two days presenting to both high schools and middle schools.

All parents and interested public are encouraged to attend at least one parent meeting and are also welcome to attend both. There is no charge thanks to a generous contribution by the Richardson Foundation of Falls City making Ms. Donahue’s visit a reality. Any free-will donations will still be accepted both nights for future WAIT training.
