Falls City Middle School was constructed in 1980. It houses an average of 185 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students and the middle school staff, as well as the Superintendent and the Central Office staff. The middle school staff consists of a full-time principal and counselor, a part-time media specialist and nurse, and 21 other certified and classified employees who spend all or part of their day at the middle school. A hot breakfast and lunch program is offered by our food service program every day school is in session.

The middle school is accredited through the state of Nebraska and also the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). The reading, math, science and social studies curriculum is aligned to the Nebraska State Standards and the STARS Standards Assessments are completed at all grade levels to track proficiency.

The core classes at sixth grade consist of English, reading, math, science, and social studies. Physical education is scheduled twice a week. Each student participates in exploratories consisting of keyboarding, industrial technology, family and consumer science and art. Each student is offered band and/or chorus.

The core classes for the seventh and eighth grade students are language arts, math, science, and social studies. Physical education is scheduled two and three times per week during alternating quarters. Band and/or chorus is offered to all the students. Exploratories for the seventh grade consist of study skills, industrial technology, health skills, Spanish, art, family and consumer science, keyboarding, and Quest. The eighth grade exploratories consist of family and consumer science, industrial technology, speech/novels, library skills/careers, keyboarding, art, fitness awareness, and Spanish. The extracurricular program consists of football, volleyball, boys' and girls' basketball, wrestling, and boys' and girls' track. Other opportunities include quiz bowl, student advisory, cheerleading, yearbook, Clown Troupe, and show choir.
