Specifics & Eligibility


  • Must be a senior son, daughter, stepson or stepdaughter of an Elk that has been a member in good standing for at least two years

Submit the following items:


  • Open to any senior

  • Emphasis will be placed on need

  • No restrictions on the type of school you will be attending

  • Students may apply to only one Elks Lodge

Submit the following items:

  • Completed application (fill in all blanks and attach all other information):

  • Be certain that the Exalted Ruler has signed and dated the application

  • The enclosed application blanks will be the only ones judged. All previous forms are null and void.


  • Must be a participant in high school golf and plan to participate in a college golf program.

  • May attend either a two or four year college.

  • Must be a senior planning to attend a Nebraska vocational-technical program for an associate degree, diploma or certificate.

Submit the following items:


  • Have completed high school (or earned a high school equivalency credential).

  • Will enroll in eligible program in Fall 2021

  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical program (up to 2 years) at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.

  • Demonstrated critical financial need (must be eligible to receive the Federal Pell grant as determined by completion of the FAFSA).

  • Demonstrated perseverance in overcoming adversity.

  • Be under the age of 30.

  • Be a United States citizen.

  • Must be planning on attending a public or private college or university in NEBRASKA

  • Must be planning to enter the field of Education, i.e. becoming a teacher or other related occupation, such as counselor or media specialist

  • Must have a 3.5 GPA or higher 

  • Must have an ACT Composite score of 22 or higher.

  • Must be planning on attending a public or private college or university in NEBRASKA

  • Must excel in the fine arts and plan to major in fine arts in college

Nebraska residents, those attending school in Nebraska, or those interested in a career in poultry-based in Nebraska are encouraged to apply for the 2021-2022 Nebraska Poultry Education Scholarship.  A total of four $1,000 scholarships can be awarded for the 2021-2022 academic year. The four scholarships are awarded based on college credit hours completed (0-26 Freshman, 27-52 Sophomore, 53-88 Junior, 89 or more Senior).

The applicant must be a current high school senior, high school graduate or current university/college undergraduate (freshman, sophomore, junior or senior) student. In addition, you must fulfill ONE of the following:

1.    Be pursuing or plan to pursue an electric industry position certificate (lineman program, renewable energy certificate, etc.) and be able to provide information about the specific program you are or will attend and the accreditation status of the institution.
2.    Be pursuing or plan to pursue an undergraduate degree with intent to pursue a career in the electric energy industry.

RMEL Foundation scholarship application

Eligibility & Selection

To be eligible for a scholarship from The Susan T. Buffett Foundation, a student must:

  • Be a resident of Nebraska (NE) 

    • Residency is determined by the college where you enroll

    • For questions about your residency status, here is a list of contact numbers

  • Graduate from a Nebraska high school or earn a Nebraska GED

  • Achieve at least a 2.0 cumulative unweighted GPA in high school  

  • Be a first-time freshman when entering college

    • Students obtaining dual enrollment credits in high school are still eligible to apply

  • Plan to attend a Nebraska public college:

    • NE Community Colleges - CCC, LPTC, MCC, MPCC, NECC, NICC, SCC, or WNCC;

    • NE State College System - Chadron State, Peru State, Wayne State; or

    • University of NE System - NCTA, UNK, UNL, UNMC, or UNO

  • Be in need of financial assistance in order to attend college

    • Note: Students do not need to be Pell Grant eligible to qualify

    • Students must have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) below $10,000

The Lincoln Community Foundation administers more than 90 different scholarship funds--many of which are for students who live outside of Lincoln/Lancaster County!  All Nebraska students are encouraged to visit the link to research their eligibility. 

For 2021, more than $500,000 will be awarded to more than 250 students.

Eligibility: The Nebraska Society of Mayflower Descendants will award the seventh Burt & Becky Whedon Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,620 to a high school senior planning to attend an accredited 4-year college or university during the 2021-2022 academic year.

Scholarship applicants must be a resident of Nebraska and a U.S. citizen. Applicants will be evaluated by a written essay, GPA and class rank, ACT or SAT scores, honors received, school or volunteer activities, employment, demonstrated leadership and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor. Mayflower ancestry is NOT a requirement.

Southeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership (SENCA) established the SENCA Community Leadership Scholarship in 2012 to provide six (6) annual scholarships in the amount of $400 for students who demonstrate a commitment to being a leader in their community. Eligible students are in the graduating class of 2021 and live in Cass, Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee and Richardson counties. 

Selection criteria that will be considered include:

Involvement in School and Community Activities

2021 SENCA Scholarship Packet


Dependents of former or current employees of the businesses that comprised the former Ames Company and its subsidiaries prior to 1999 (when company merger occurred), with preference given to students with an Ames Company affiliation.

Selection based on financial need, academic achievement, leadership abilities and activities. Scholarship assistance is not intended for advanced degrees, such as a Master’s degree or doctorate degree.

Minimum 2.5 GPA.
