Standard Response Protocol (SRP)
Safety is a top priority at Falls City Public Schools!
The first day of school is right around the corner, and Falls City Public Schools is putting finishing touches on a safety and security plan for the new school year. The staff has worked with law enforcement for a number of years on School Safety and Intruder Training. Last year, both students and staff were trained on the state recommended Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to bring a common language for students, staff, and law enforcement, and a protocol to react to an emergency situation.
Students will again watch different, age appropriate videos on the SRP's five actions: Lockout, Lockdown, Evacuation, Shelter and Hold early in the first days of school. Drills will take place each semester to practice and evaluate the process. The Parent Information Sheet with information on each of the types of emergencies will be sent home with this document.
This document, the Parent Information sheet, page from Crisis Manual, and Videos can be found online.
