Falls City Public Schools is excited to announce progress toward its strategic plan initiative, which focuses on establishing vocational trade partnerships with Southeast Community College (SCC) and enhancing our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. The initiative also includes the introduction of dual-credit opportunities and the creation of a career academy at SCC Falls City Learning Center.

The Career Academy partnership at SCC's Learning Center will offer a conducive environment for educational growth, presenting potential academic pathways available at SCC.

Our students will have diverse educational and career options after high school, with certification pathways in Welding and Carpentry Trades, and potential career academies in Teacher Education, Early Childhood Education, Agriculture, and Certified Nurse Assistant.

As part of this new initiative, Jack Bangert will assume the full-time role of Coordinator for the Career Academy at Falls City Learning Center for the academic year 2024-2025.   Mr. Bangert will lead the implementation of the academy and oversee day-to-day operations.

In preparation for the fall 2024 start, Mr. Bangert will begin his role transition in January 2024. Meghan Robeson will be assigned as interim middle school principal for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year to support this transition. The district will initiate the search for qualified applicants for the Middle School Principal / Curriculum & Assessment Director position for 2024-2025.

We are excited to begin work on this important program and look forward to kicking it off in the Fall of 2024!
