Food Drive

Truely, Together Everyone Achieves More!  FCMS National Junior High Honor Society led the Falls City Middle School tiger team in hosting a second annual epic food drive, collecting 1,725 items to donate to the SENCA food pantry and The Richardson County Humane Society!  The food items donated will help people in Richardson county who are food insecure and help to rid the effects of food insecurity like serious health complications from not having adequate and healthy food to learn and grow.

What motivated students to give so generously (aside from the desire to make a difference) their teachers kissing animals, of course!  NJHS students created fun, food-themed days and set a series of goals.  For each goal met, animals were given some extra love by teachers. Malorie Kuker brought Squiggy the guinea pig to receive kisses from Kory Huppert for 250 items donated.  A ferret named Mable, brought by Kyleigh Furnas, met kisses from Susan Findlay for 500 items.  Nick Kraft kissed Sapphire the parakeet brought by Elizabeth Vice for 750 items.  Bull the goat, supplied by Judd & Jamie Milam, received kisses from Sharon Jeffries for 1000 items, and Baskey the bullsnake (supplied by Sharon Jeffries & Derrek Underwood) got some extra love from Principal Jack Bangert for 1,500 donated items. Special thanks to Falls City Mercantile for supplying boxes for items and to Falls City Dollar Fresh whose donations came through in the end to go above and beyond the goal!
