Falls City High School starts the school year with a “Splash”

When planning for the school year, Mr. Dunkhas and his team wanted to make sure that the students at the High School had their best first day ever! The day started with a meeting in the auditorium to discuss the expectations for the school year. It was great to see both the staff and the students together after the summer break. Students were dismissed to class officer elections and the future leaders of Falls City were voted into their roles. These students will be role models for their peers by mirroring the Fall City behavior expectations of R.O.A.R.S: Respect, Ownership, Accountability, Responsibility, and Safety. Following elections, students had a shortened schedule that allowed them to attend all of their classes and learn classroom expectations and responsibilities for the school year ahead.

At the completion of lunch, students went out on the new turf football field for drone photos. A special thanks to Dana Haines for taking the photos and making it possible for us. Students and staff did an amazing job of getting organized to get the photos done efficiently. Now the real fun begins. Students were allowed to take part in a variety of fun activities: Kickball, football, spike ball, yard jenga, corn hole, ladder golf, and a dunk tank. Mr. Dunkhas and Mr. Coatney were gracious enough to serve as the individuals to get drenched. Laughter and fun was had by all. Memories were created that will last a lifetime. Now the work begins. Students return to regular classes to be challenged to grow and improve. I feel that everyone can agree, It was a great day to be a Tiger.
