Falls City Middle School sent out the back-to-school letter today. Included in the letter is an insert with information about athletics. It also includes a link to the back-to-school video for 7th and 8th grade parents. The video is convenient way to view information about the school when you have time and to avoid scheduling conflicts. There will be a meeting over this information for 6th grade parents/students and new FCMS parents/students at 6:00PM on Thursday August 11th in the FCMS gym. The links to the letters and video are below and you can access them here in case you need them later.

Reminder that Tiger Football camp starts Thursday morning 6:00AM at Jug Brown Stadium. The camp is for Tiger Football Players in grades 7-12. See ya then!

Week 6 in the books and it was a short week with a few guys out on vacation. Things pick up the next 2 weeks for football. Wednesday we have 7 on 7 at Sabetha. Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we have Tiger football camp from 6:00AM to 8:00AM at the Stadium. This is a camp for 7-12th grade free of charge for Tiger football players. Thursday July 21st we travel to Seward for our first full contact scrimmages. This is an all day camp and is only for 9-12th grade players. Players must attend at least 2 days of football camp to compete in the scrimmages at Seward. There is a previous post about the changes to the weight room schedule due to camps through July 21st. Finally I want to give a shout out to our incoming 6th graders who have been lifting this summer. Not just football boys but we have a good chunk of 6th Grade girls in the weight room. Keep up the great work and just 48 days till the return of football Fridays!

Updated weight room schedule through July 22nd. See photo

There will be a parent meeting for Football Parents on August 2nd at 6:00PM in the High School Cafeteria. This meeting is for all middle AND high school football players parents. We will cover schedules for the season and answer any questions.

Middle school boys no football this morning due to storms. You will have weights starting at 9:30.

This message is for 6th Grade parents and parents with new students at Falls City Middle School. The 6th grade and new middle school student orientation will be on Thursday August 11th at 6:00PM in the middle school gym. Next week a letter will be going out to all parents about the upcoming school year. I am sending this message now for your planning.

The grass is growing in nicely! Wont be long and the sled will be cruising along.

Week 5 is in the books for Tiger Football Workouts. We currently have 36 High School players and 33 potential 6-8 football players. We are over half way complete for the summer with our most crucial weeks coming up with camp starting July 14th and ending on July 21st at Seward. We currently have 16 HS players at 75% or higher and 10 JH players over the 75% mark. We have 27 HS players above 50% which means they can still hit their goal and 22 JH players above 50% as well. Keep up the good work as the start of the season is just around the corner!

Reminder Tiger Athletes: The weight room is closed Monday July 4th and Tuesday July 5th.

The Falls City Flag football league currently has 120 players signed up but are short coaches. If you would be willing or interested in coaching please call Blake Amador at 303-505-4691 or email at Blakeamador@yahoo.com

Week 4 of summer Football weights and conditioning is in the books. We have 15 HS players above the 75% goal and 11 JH players above the 75% goal. Last week the senior class as a group hit 90% for the week, the Juniors 28%, Sophomores 50% and Freshman 62%. Junior parents, roll those juniors out of bed and get them to the gym, we need them! Seniors you have been examples, you all are working jobs playing multiple sports and getting the work in for football. Great job! Freshman you have the biggest group and have the 2nd highest percentage for the week, nice work but lets get to 75%! Strive for 75 and learn to love the grind! JH is doing nice work too, sitting at 50% last week in grades 6-8. This is great boys, keep up the good work Tiger Cubs! If you have any questions on schedules etc. feel free to email Coach Bangert at jbangert@fallscityps.org. GO TIGERS!!

There is also a wrestling camp this weekend in Sabetha hosted by Cody Hummer, who has previously done camps with Falls City. It is a cheap 2-day camp for all ages of wrestlers, that's close proximity, and would be a great camp for many of us that have been away from the mats.

Week 3 Summer Football update:
After 3 weeks we have 36 HS Football Players and 35 JH Football Players potentially.
8 HS and 11 JH Football players had a perfect week

Parents of 6th 7th and 8th graders who want to play football. Players can come to weights at 9:00am (30 minutes early) on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday if they would like to learn and practice football fundementals with coaches before their weights workout.

Congratulations to Carson Bredemeier, Jon Craig, Charlie McNeely, & Jaxyn Strauss for being selected as honorable mention all-state Baseball players for 2022.

Look for a weekly Friday update on Weights and Football Conditioning. I will post the attendance for all Tiger football players on Fridays. (See attached Picture: All players in yellow had perfect attendance this week) The goal is for every High School and Middle School football player to hit 75% of the total days by the end of the summer. This allows for vacations etc. Parents are the key in getting kids to workouts. Consistently successful programs have families who commit to the process not just Friday nights. The coaches promise that we will be ready to work every day with whomever shows up. My challenge to Tiger nation is to match that intensity. Football is unique in that we need a minimum of thirty guys turning the block yellow each week! (Coach Coatney, change that color to Orange!) We are off to a good start but we will know a lot more around mid-July. Learn to love the grind! Stay tuned.
