¡Felicitaciones Abigail Boatright! Congratulations to Abigail Boatright for being named as one of only fifty World Language Distinguished Scholars across all languages and all grade levels across the entire state from the Nebraska Department of Education during World Language Week! In addition, Abigail earned the highest score possible (9/9) on the Reading portion of the Avant Stamp 4S Spanish placement exam that she took in March. That placement could earn her up to 16 credit hours of FREE college credits depending on where she chooses to continue her study of Spanish. ¡Excelente Abigail!
From the press release during World Language Week:
The World Language Distinguished Scholar Award recognizes Nebraska students for their leadership in language learning, commitment to language study, appreciation for cultural diversity, and communicative competence.
“Learning a world language means strengthening one’s understanding of humans across all backgrounds, ethnicities, and time periods.,” said Bellevue West High senior and World Language Distinguished Scholar Nathan Walther. “Learning a world language is an essential skill that is necessary in the diverse world we live in today, because it builds much needed connections between people amidst much divisiveness.”
