The Falls City FFA Chapter had a busy start to September. Saturday, September 6, the Falls City FFA officer team assisted with the Verdon Pedal Tractor Pull in cooperation with the Little Tuggers. The team helped set up the area, prepare the tractors, and organize the list of pullers. Fifteen kids pulled in different age divisions, as well as the six officers in attendance and both advisors. The evening concluded by deconstructing the area. A few days later on, Wednesday, September 10, the Falls City FFA Chapter attended Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island Nebraska. There were a total of thirty members and four sponsors that attended. Everyone learned about various agricultural systems and ideas throughout the day. Each member wrote a paragraph about the things they learned throughout the day. State Bank of Table Rock and F&M Bank helped sponsor tickets to get into the event for the members and sponsors. The chapter as a whole had a fun week, and we are looking forward to our upcoming events!

Thank you to the First Interstate Bank ladies for volunteering at South School for a whole afternoon. They read books to some classes, hung art work, played at recess, and did some painting in the recess area. Thank you for making our school a brighter place!

Thank you to Frontier Bank for completing teller training. These 5th graders will lead our In School Savings Program this year at South School by taking money, helping students fill out deposit slips, and tracking totals in accounts. This program is also known as the “Tiger Branch Bank”. We will have a kickoff rally on September 29th with the first deposit day to follow on October 1st. Your child must have a signed permission slip to participate. What a great program to teach students about the importance of saving money!💵

Our local students would like to thank FAST Global for their donation of welding gloves, jackets and glasses to our welding classes at SCC. Thanks for your support of the next generation of welders in our community!
