This year was another successful Kids Heart Challenge! The students completed all of their jumping and hooping during physical education. The students raised $1,352. Any student that raised 25 cents or more received a Heart Hero prize. Sam Waller was the top collector for the event! Thank you to everyone that donated.

The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program is highlighting carrots in April. Carrots are a common vegetable grown in many gardens during the summer, but did you know they come in a variety of colors. Carrots are most commonly orange, but they also can be purple or white. For more information check out the attached information and recipe sheets to learn more about carrots.

Kindergarten students were each presented with a book from Steve Kottich and his family in memory of Diana Kottich on Thursday, March 28. Diana was a kindergarten teacher at FCPS and impacted many students throughout her career. She loved and understood the importance of reading. Thank you Kottich family!

We are excited to announce that Mr. Paul Wertenberger will be joining our High School team as one of the CTE/Industrial Tech teachers for the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Wertenberger has experience teaching in the CTE/Industrial Tech field and will bring a great wealth of knowledge to continue to build our programs and utilize these skills to promote the development of our scholars.

First grade finished their garbology unit with Mrs. Jami Ankrom through UNL extension. They made recycling posters, edible landfills, and made their own recycled paper.








The media publications class is tasked with creating and broadcasting daily announcements to middle school. The ArtsNOW grant enabled them to purchase this board to keep information organized. @NDE_FineArts @NEArtsCouncil @NebraskaCulture #FineArtsEdNebraska and #ArtsNOWGrant


Fifth grade students visited Morrill Halll for their field trip. They were able to see a show in the planetarium and many exhibits related to nature, wildlife animals and the history of Nebraska. This opportunity was made possible by Partners In Education. Thank you for everything you do for our students.
