The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program is highlighting avocados in March. Avocados are high in vitamin B6 &E, and they are a good source of vitamin C. Avocados can be eaten plain or you can make guacamole. For more information and recipes check out the pictures.

The Falls City boys cross country team earned Nebraska Coaches Association academic honors this past fall season. To earn honors, the team had to have higher than a 3.3 GPA for the fall semester.

The Falls City High School show choir, orchestra, and pep band shared their amazing talent with the elementary students today. The students and teachers were excited to see familiar faces during the entertainment. Thank you to the music department for taking time to come to the elementary schools. We loved the show!

Last week Falls City FFA had an action packed week, The week started out strong with the District Welding contest. In Arc Welding; Chase Brown (Purple), and Ethan Morris (Blue). In Tig Welding; Derek Helmick (Red). Oxy Acetylene welding; Blakely Sells (Purple Bronze metal , and Ashton Martin (Red). In GMAW/MIG welding; Eric Heinzelman (Blue), and Brock Niedfeldt (Blue). Overall Falls City got fourth place leading to a state qualifying team of Chase Brown, Derek Helmick, Blakely Sells, and Eric Heinzelman. Last week was also FFA week where students got to dress up and participate in lunch activities. We started out the week Monday with blue and gold day and panty hose pest control. Tuesday was Western day where students dressed western with the biggest belt buckles and the activity was horse race on bouncy horses. Wednesday was country music day where students wore their favorite artists' merch and participated in karaoke at lunch. Thursday was Chore day students wore their chore attire, we held a horse shoeing competition at lunch with 159 Lumber donating the board. We also had drive a tractor to school day and had a great turn out with many students driving tractors. F&M bank also stopped by and donated a check to the Falls City FFA chapter to support our cause. It was a great way to end the week. Thank you F&M bank.

Taytum Maddox won second place for her Rosa Parks website and is invited to compete at the state competition.
Kenley Alexander won 3rd place for her historical paper on Gertrude Ederle and is invited to compete at state.
Deacon Jacobs won 4th place for his Pearl Harbor paper and is an alternate for the state competition.
We are excited to announce that Dr. Powell will be teaching at 6th grade at the Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year. Dr. Powell is currently part of the 5th grade team at South Elementary School. She holds doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction and we are excited to see how she can utilize these skills to promote the development of our scholars.

Falls City Public School’s is pleased to announce that Mrs. Robeson has been selected for the Middle School Principal position at Falls City Middle School. Mrs. Robeson brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in educational leadership. With an extensive background in curriculum development, school improvement, and fostering positive school culture, Mrs. Robeson has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the field of education. She currently holds the position of interim Middle School Principal, Curriculum & Assessments Director, for the Falls City Public Schools. Prior to her coming to the Falls City Public Schools in 2022, Mrs. Robeson held the positions of 9-12 English Teacher, English Department Head, and School Improvement Team Leader for the Beatrice Public Schools. She received her Bachelor's Degree in English Education 7-12 from Wayne State College, A Master's Degree in English Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
