National School Breakfast Week is running from March 6-10, 2023. This is a good time for students to eat breakfast at school! The first graders celebrated Read Across America Day by finishing up their fairy tale unit. The students dressed up, did fairy tale activities, and had a Royal tea party.

The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program will be highlighting cauliflower in March. Cauliflower has been around for 2000 year and it originated in the Mediterranean and Asia. Cauliflower also very good for you because it is high in Vitamin C and Fiber. For more information on cauliflower check out the information sheet and recipes in the included pictures.

Mr. Nelson, the Elementary Guidance Counselor, teamed up with Mrs. Kennedy from the extension office to teach skills on leadership to 3rd Grade students and put them into action in our classroom.
Thank you Mrs. Kennedy for these important lessons on how to be great listeners and leaders!




Approximately 450 students from twenty-seven Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas high schools competed for scholarships and awards at the 50th annual Peru State College Business Contest on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Competitions were held in 16 different disciplines. First-place winners in each of the 16 categories were awarded $500 tuition scholarships for on-campus classes to Peru State College. Medals were awarded to the top five individuals in each of the sixteen categories. Danyelle Kuker won a 5th Place medal in Advanced Accounting. Donna Eickhoff is the business instructor at Falls City High School.
