
Falls City Baseball game for Tuesday, March 26th has been postponed.

Falls City Track meet scheduled for tomorrow will be postponed and rescheduled for Thursday, March 28th

Students in Mr. Kurpgeweit's Government class took the day to discuss the local elections for 2024. Afterwards, students were given the opportunity to register to vote! #citizenship


On Saturday, 3/23, Bailey Thimmes and Gunner Lippold represented Falls City High School Band at Nebraska Class B Honor Band! Both students did exceptionally well and we hope to bring more students next spring! 🎉🎶🐅


Gunner Lippold, a junior at FCHS, earned a 6th place medal at the 2024 State Speech Tournament. Throughout the season, Gunner consistently medaled in three events: Poetry, Program of Oral Interpretation, and Humorous Prose. This was the first Fall City’s first appearance at state since 2014.

Ashleigh Kirkendall signs with Doane University to play Volleyball and run Track.
Ashleigh is the daughter of Jeremy and Laura Kirkendall.
In Volleyball, Ashleigh Kirkendall was the setter for four years for the Tiger Volleyball team. During her four years she racked up a total of 191 kills, 133 aces, 126 blocks, 920 digs, and 2,076 assists. Ashleigh broke the school record for assists in a career as a junior and was a member of the team that set the school record for wins in a season as a sophomore. Ashleigh goes down as the winningest (total team wins) Tiger Volleyball player ever and started every single game during that four years. She also received recognition the last three years for all-conference awards, all state awards all four years in both papers, and NCPA awards.
In Track, Ashleigh is a 4 -year letter winner. She is 3 - time state qualifier, a member of the school record holding 4 X 100 relay, outstanding athlete of the year in 2023, and a leader and mentor for our track team. Her work ethic is impeccable and challenges herself to be the best version of an athlete with respect and character of representing Falls City High School Athletics.


Falls City Public School's is pleased to announce that Krista Noll will be a Speech-Language Pathologist with Falls City Public Schools for the 2024-2025 school year.
Krista holds a Masters of Communication Science and Disorders from Kansas State University and a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and Human Services. Her clinical experience are from Hiawatha Elementary Schools, Weber Speech Clinic, and Randolph Elementary School in Topeka, Kansas. Krista brings a wealth of knowledge and experiences to her role starting in the 2024-2025 school year.


Falls City Public School’s is pleased to announce that Kylie Whitney has accepted the Special Education Supervisor position at Falls City Public Schools.
Kylie holds a Master of Arts in Education Administration with a specialization in Supervisor of Special Education from the University of Nebraska - Kearney. Prior to completing her advanced degree, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education (K-12 Mild/Moderate) from Doane University. Currently serving as the Grade 7 Special Education Teacher and Special Education Department Head at Aspen Creek Middle School within the Gretna Public Schools system, Kylie brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to her new role starting in the 2024-2025 school year.


We are excited to announce that Mrs. Haylee Erickson will be the PK-5th grade elementary school counselor for the 2024-2025 school year. Mrs. Erickson currently holds the position of the K-12 grade counselor for the Falls City Public Schools. Prior to this position, she was the K-12 school counselor at South Holt. She received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology from Northwest Missouri State University and her Master's Degree in Education Guidance and School Counseling from Northwest Missouri State University.
Mrs. Erickson is passionate about nurturing the well-being and academic success of young minds, and committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student can thrive. She recognized the importance of fostering positive relationships, providing guidance, and equipping students with the necessary skills to navigate life's challenges effectively. She is eager to continue to collaborate with the parents, teachers, and staff members to ensure that our students receive the holistic support they need to reach their full potential. She will work towards promoting social-emotional learning, enhancing resilience, and empowering students to become confident and resilient individuals.


On Friday, March 22, Falls City Middle School took 6 teams to compete in the ESU4 quiz bowl competition at Peru State College. One of 7th grade teams got 2nd Place in the Gold Division and one of the 8th grade teams got 1st Place in the Silver Division. Good job everyone!




The administration of Falls City High School is excited to introduce Jaxson Balm as the new head boys basketball coach for the 2024-25 season. Jaxson is currently a 4th grade teacher at South School. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, a Bachelor's Degree in K-6 Special Education and a 7 -12 coaching endorsement from Peru State College.
Prior to becoming the head coach of the Falls City boys basketball program, he spent two years as an assistant coach. Coach Balm stated, “it was a great experience for him and helped prepare him for this upcoming opportunity.” He is looking forward to helping student-athletes become high character young men on and off the court and is excited to get started!
Don Hogue, Activities Director stated, “Jaxson has an excellent basketball pedigree and has a plan for moving the program forward. Please congratulate coach, Jaxson Balm.”

NJHS and Hope Squad attended the “Understanding and Responding to Bullying” convocation at Lewiston with Dr. Chad Rose from University of Missouri & Bully Prevention Lab. One response to bullying - not everyone has to be your friend, but you can be friendly to everyone. "Be the reason people WANT to be in school."

The 5th grade students made histograms to learn about the many contributions from women through history.
