The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program will be highlighting Bell Peppers in January. The bell peppers come in a variety of colors including: red, green, orange, and yellow. They are also a good source of Vitamin C, and Beta-carotene. Also many peppers are grown in many of our gardens during the summer months. The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program is serving Lucy Glo Apples today. This is a unique kind of apple because it has a yellow skin but the inside is a pinkish or reddish color. They are crisp, tart apple with a slight sweetness Like regular apples, Lucy Glo apples are an excellent source of fiber, vitamin A, and vitamin C.
