The 2nd annual Alumni Music Concert took place on August 24th-Sunday of Cobblestone. Alumni performers ranged from 1982 - 2020 along with two performs that sang with their fathers who have not graduated yet. It was a great afternoon of music making. Thank you to all the performers and those of you that came to listen.
Look for information about the 3rd annual Alumni Music Contest in the upcoming months.

The 6th Grade Choir has been working on the "Dum Dum Song" and today they worked in groups to create their own rhythms to the tune of the song while eating a dum dum sucker. The final product will include the rhythm patterns of all of the groups. The song will be a long one since we have 54 students in choir. It seemed that all were enjoying making their own music and enjoying a sweet treat.

✨ Fairy Tales & Tall Tales Recap! ✨
Our 2nd graders have been diving into the magical world of fairy tales and tall tales!
📖 Fairy Tales: We revisited classics like The Fisherman and His Wife, The Emperor’s New Clothes, and Beauty and the Beast. Students explored story elements, connected with the characters’ challenges, and discovered the valuable lessons each tale teaches.
🌟 Tall Tales: We met larger-than-life characters such as Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, John Henry, and Casey Jones! Through their adventures, students learned about exaggeration, the American frontier, and the hardworking spirit of settlers heading west.
To wrap up our unit, we celebrated in true tall-tale fashion by reading stories from the genre and making colossal pancakes—just like Paul Bunyan!🥞📚

Congratulations to these seniors whose poems written in English III last year were chosen for publication in the collection Excellence by The America Library of Poetry. This accomplishment is truly something to be proud of as less than 20 percent of the authors across the nation who submitted poems have the honor of publication. Not pictured - Kyleigh Furnas.
