Girls wrestling at Weeping Water today. 28 teams, over 160 girls. All 16 person brackets except for 1, 8 person bracket. Good luck Elizabeth!


FCCLA District 1 STAR Events took place at Peru State College today. Congratulations to Hannah Collier who received a Silver Medal and Chelssa Sells, Kaleigh Heath and Kenzie Johansen all received a Bronze Medal. Hannah and Kaleigh will advance to State. Great job Tigers!

The staff and administration of Falls City High School have announced the
selections for December High School Students of the Month. The honors go to the following students:
Upperclassmen- Jaxtyn Harvey, a senior, whose guardians are Mark and Meridee Ansel, Hannah Collier, a senior, is the daughter of Kristin McNett and Aaron Collier.
Underclassmen- Caleb Zimmerman, a sophomore, is the son of Kim Zimmerman. Ruby Nguyen, a sophomore, is the daughter of Zee Nguyen.


Tonight is Boys Basketball Parents Night. We will announce all players and their parents at the conclusion of the girls varsity game and before boys warmup.

FFA News
On Monday, January 16th the Falls City FFA Competed in their Leadership Development Events, at Norris High School. Leadership Development Events are a way to focus on creating situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization. The Falls City FFA participated in Parliamentary Procedure, Chapter Conduct of Meetings(Jr. Parli. pro.), and Creed Speaking. The Senior Parliamentary Procedure team consisting of Jodie Uhri, Cayliegh Eickhoff, Jordan Wilcox, Wyatt Olberding, Kemper Foster, and Katelynn Titus placed 3rd, and qualified for state. The junior Parliamentary Procedure team consisting of Ethan Morris, Brock Nieldfeldt, Malori Kuker, Evie Rue, Breean Eickhoff, and Kaydence Rego, placed 2nd, and qualified for state. And in Creed Speaking with Ethan Morris competing and placing 7th out of 18. Both Parliamentary Procedure teams from the Falls City FFA chapter will be competing in the annual state FFA competition on March 29th to the 31st.

The 6th grade social studies classes are creating SMART goals, budgets, using their math skills in personal finance to write checks, make deposits, and accurately record money transactions with UNL Extension Educator Kaytlyn Kennedy.


Miss Ramsey’s 3rd Grade students were experimenting with Balanced and Unbalanced Forces in Science. Following the lesson, students decided on 4 different scenarios to test.

This week in science, chemistry students attempted to confirmed the empirical formula of magnesium oxide and started to complete a lab report to support or disprove the current knowledge in chemistry.





This week in Physical Science, students tested the impact of horizontal velocity on gravity, by measuring the time in free fall.
