Sophomore Pilgrimage is an annual event sponsored by the Nebraska Federation of Women's Clubs (NFWC) for over 30 years, when high school sophomores spend a day at the Nebraska State Capitol. The purpose of the program is to create interest in and educate the students about Nebraska Government. The event is an opportunity for students to meet and hear from the elected state officials. The Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Auditor and Treasurer inform students about the duties and responsibilities of their office and answer questions from the students and sponsors. They also hear a presentation in the State Supreme Court Room explaining the state court system, visit the Unicameral in session and have lunch with their State Senator at the Governor's Residence. Grant Kobza and Dayton Snethen, Falls City high school sophomores, represented 39 students from 21 schools across the state.
