Last week in Chemistry, chem students compete the red cabbage lab. Students created a color chart using HCl and NaOH, this was used to determine the pH of household products by mixing a small sample. The Go Direct pH probe was then used to look at the accuracy of the work.

As the school year comes to a close, please remember the parking and unloading areas at North and South School. Thank you for following the drop zone procedures to keep our elementary students safe. North School - Parents are to unload children on the south side of the building where the curb is painted red. They are not to stop or unload children in any area painted Yellow. Do not stop or park west of the building; this is a school bus zone. Use extreme care when unloading children. South School - Parents are not to unload children on Fulton Street in the crosswalks or in any yellow area. Please pull over to the curb before letting students out of vehicles. Have students cross the street only in the cross walks.

Falls City FFA partnering with Farm Bureau On May 11th, 2023, the Falls City FFA ventured over to North school to teach 1st and 2nd grade students about Ag. Literacy by reading them a book provided to them by the Nebraska Farm Bureau. The book, “I Love Strawberries,” was about a young girl who loved strawberries and wanted to learn how to grow them. Before she could learn how to grow them, she had to earn money, show responsibility, and find a spot to grow them. After trial and error, the young girl was able to reap the harvest of her hard work and make some money too. After reading the book the FFA members had a question and answer session about the book and agriculture. The young students had a great time learning and interacting with the high school students. Before leaving, the FFA donated the book to the North School library. Pictured left to right: Kemper Foster, Wyatt Olberding, Jordan WIlcox, Katelynn Titus, and Sierrah Vermeer.
