On Friday, November 15th, Falls City South School and Middle School participated in the Rube Goldberg simple machines competition hosted by ESU4 in Auburn. Students were lead by Peru State College future educators to create a simple machine to do a task from provided materials. Engineering and trial and error were the key to success and having group interaction. Both teams of 5th grade and 6th grade didn't place but had a great hands on learning experience.
Supervising today's groups were the HAL sponsors of Sheyenne Farwell and Terri Hogue.

We would like to thank the Falls City Rotary Club for coming to give student dictionaries to all 3rd grade students. This is a tradition that has been going on for about 15 years. A few students even remember seeing siblings bring home the same dictionary. F&M Bank also donated pens to go with it. Mrs. Glenda Nelson had the students practice using them by looking up the definitions of “service” and “volunteer” to help explain the mission of the Rotary Club. We appreciate your generosity!

These vocal musicians had a big day on November 11, 2024. After being a part of the annual Veterans Day Program, they headed to Weeping Water for the rest of the day and evening to participate in our ECNC Conference Honor Choir.

North School students, grades K-2nd participated in the Veterans Day parade. Here is a recap: https://youtu.be/2oxqGGsLaxI

Falls City High School Varsity Math Team students competed in the MAA American Mathematics Competition, a national math contest.

Veteran’s Day Fun! The students enjoyed creating signs, walking in the parade, and thanking Veterans. What a fun day to be a Tiger!❤️🤍💙

On Monday, November 11th, the Falls City Middle School Fellowship of Christian Athletes group spent time serving the Veterans Day meal at the Legion Club. A simple gesture to honor others for their sacrifice and service.

Thank you to the men and women who are currently service or have served our country. God Bless America!

Varsity Super Smash Bros Ultimate
#12 FC1 (12-5, 8-3 in D3) (Camden Jean & Deacon Jacobs) defeated #21 Southern 2 3-1 on Tuesday evening. They will play #5 Conestoga 1 in Rd 3 probably next Tuesday (Nov. 12) at 4:05 PM. With a win, they qualify for the Elite 8, who attend the State Tournament hosted by Midland University on Friday, Nov. 22.
#18 FC2 finished their season at 6-5 with a loss to #15 Amherst last Tuesday in Rd 2.

Congratulations to the FCPS ESports Middle School Super Smash Bros Ultimate Team 1 on qualifying for State!
#2 FC1 (11-1) (Liam Sutton & Noah Jacobs) defeated #15 Hemmingford 1 at 5 PM today in Rd 2. They played #7 Lewiston 1 for their Rd 3 match right after their Hemmingford match this evening. They won that 3-1 and advanced to the Final Four for the NSESA Middle School Fall State Championship which is played online instead of in-person like the varsity teams.
#5 FC2 (7-4) was upset by #12 Wayne 1 last Tuesday in Rd 2, which ended their season.

Varsity League of Legends
The #3 Falls City (8-0, 5-0 in D3/4) will play their Rd 2 match against #6 Amherst next Tuesday (Nov. 12) at 6:30 PM. With a win, the team will qualify for its third straight state tournament. Two of the Final Four teams have punched their tickets to state at Midland University on Nov. 22. #1 LCC (8-2, 6-0 in D3/4) and #5 Scribner Snyder (5-3, 4-1 in D3/4) will play each other on one side of the bracket. On October 19, FC defeated Scribner in their tournament and defeated LCC twice in that tournament. The second match was for the championship. A match that lasted almost a full hour and was very close. With a win against Amherst, FC would more than likely play #2 Thayer Central (5-0 in D3/4), a team they have not seen yet this season.
