Congratulations to these middle school students who competed in the eastern Nebraska district one speech contest in Omaha, speaking on "A Great American Hero. In the 7th and 8th grade division, Kinley Alexander placed third. In the 5th and 6th grade division, Caroline Powell placed second and Kaytlin Rhodd placed third. They will advance to state May 4!
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, Middle School will be conducting state testing in the mornings. Please make sure your students get to bed on time and eat a good meal at night and in the morning before school. Let's Go Tigers!
A medical incident occurred at Falls City Middle School this morning where 911 was utilized. The building went into a hold until the student in distress was transported to the hospital. All students are safe and the school day is resuming on a normal schedule.
The Falls City Public and Sacred Heart fifth grade bank tellers were invited to the Nebraska State Capitol to meet with Gov. Pillen as he signed a proclamation celebrating Financial Literacy Month. They enjoyed a tour of the capitol and financial activities at the Department of Banking and Finance.
Students can pick up physical forms in the middle or high school office. Just bring in the completed forms, urine sample and 20 dollars on the day of the physicals. We highly encourage all 8th - 12th grade athletes to take advantage of this opportunity.

RaeAnn Thompson signed to run track and field at Doane University.RaeAnn has 6 total state medals.She has won the 100 meters in back to back years.Last year her time set the state meet record.RaeAnn owns three individual school records and has a fourth record with the 4x100 team.

Just a reminder that the Middle School Track meet today at Syracuse begins at 2:00. Running events will begin at 4:00. This is a change from the original schedule sent at the beginning of the season. Field events begin at 2:00, running events begin at 4:00.

Tomorrow there will be Middle School track practice at 2:30. Please meet at the Middle School gym. Practice will be over by 4:00. Practice is highly encouraged because of the track meet on Tuesday.
Wednesday evening the varsity League of Legends FCPS ESports team punched their ticket to the Final Four NSESA State Tournament at Concordia University in Seward, NE, on Friday, April 28, after they defeated Syracuse, NE. Team members include Peyton & Josh Brown, Ethan Boatright, Ethan Morris, Dustin Stilen, Jennifer Sweeney and Brock Caudle.
Thursday evening the Tiger's varsity baseball team defeated Fairbury 14-4. 6 players got hits. Jaxyn Strauss lead the way with 4, Kadyn Strecker 3, Alijah Hernandez 2, and Collier, Craig, and McNeely each 1. Strauss earned the win on the mound. Monday they're home vs W. Nodaway.

The third grade classes have been working on rhythm dictation. ( they don't know that's what it's called) They started out by writing their own rhythm, then using dice, then paper, then rhythm bingo. The culmination was using pretzels and m&m's to show the rhythm. The best part was they got to eat the pretzels and m&m's when they were finished! Yum!!
