
Falls City Rotary Club members presented each third grade student at Falls City South School with a dictionary and pen. Mrs. Auffert, Ms. Ramsey, and Ms. Frederick appreciate the time the club members take each year to present this resource and information to their students. announced the
selections for September High School
Students of the Month. The honors go to the following
students:
Upperclassmen - Chase Brown, a senior, is the son of
James Brown, Grace Morris, a senior, is the daughter of
Adam and Sarah Morris.
Underclassmen - Lathan Richey, a freshman, is the son of
Josh and Molley Richey. Evie Rue, a sophomore, is the
daughter if Paul and Sara Rue.

On Wednesday, October 4th, the Falls City FFA chapter competed at district land judging in Beatrice, NE. The bus departed from the high school at 7:40 am and they started on their journey to judge the soil. There were 301 contestants and 14 schools competing at this event. The Falls City team managed to place 2nd overall and had 4 students qualify for state land judging competition. State land judging will be held on October 25th, in Broken Bow, NE. The students on the team that qualified are Brock Niedfeldt (3rd place individual), Kemper Foster (9th place), Ethan Morris (24th place), and Lathan Richey (35th place).
Ribbon places were given to the top third of competitors. Brock Niedfeldt and Kemper Foster(Purple), Ethan Morris and Lathan Richey(Blue), Eric Heizelman, Bowdy Jones(Red), Blakely Sells, Wyatt Coonce, Malori Kuker, Makayla Eberle, and Evie Rue(White). Malesa Wickham, Mason Collier, Bradyn Shulenberg, Kenzie Mason, Vaden Leyden, Taiylah Moore, and Taylor Donahoo also competed in the district land judging competition with nearly all placing in the top half of the competitors!

Congrats to senior Ashleigh Kirkendall for surpassing 2,000 career assists. The assist occurred in the first set of tonight's game on a Paige Young kill. Along with this milestone, the volleyball team picked up a second round win against Mead. Tiger Volleyball will play again Thursday.


The Falls City XC team earned 3rd place at the ECNC conference meet last Tuesday! Congratulations FCXC!


Falls City Middle School Volleyball games in Auburn today will be played at the High School and not at Calvert Elementary.

District Cross Country is going to be Wednesday, Oct. 11th instead of Thursday, Oct 12th. Due to the forecast for Thursday.

Congratulations to our Math students who competed at UNO Math Competition. Ashleigh Kirkendall made it to the final four head to head in the speed round.
Hayden Findlay finished in the top five juniors, Ashleigh and Ella Kobza were in the top five seniors, and the team finished second in the small schools division.

National School Lunch Week begins today, and North and South School will be having "Bring a Friend to School" on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. So today is a good day to eat school lunch!
