The Falls City FFA chapter had a busy week last week attending the Nebraska State FFA Convention on April 6-8th. Students attended sessions, competed in their contests, and made new friends!
The parliamentary procedure team consisting of Makayla Mason, Jodie Uhri, Justin Brewer, Eliza Kuker, and Jozie Kirkendall, earned a bronze plaque.
The welding team of Ray Feek, Thomas Fields, Wyatt Olberding, and Peyton Doerr; Earned blue ribbons and top 15 in OA and Arc were Ray and Thomas. Members who competed in the livestock management contest are Justin Brewer, Ray Feek, Jodie Uhri, Cayleigh Eickhoff, and Makayla Mason.
For the veterinary science team of Jozie Kirkendall, Makayla Mason, Cayleigh Eickhoff, and Katelynn Titus; Jozie Kirkendall and Makayla Mason each earned white ribbons. For the livestock evaluation team of Katelynn Titus, Kaedyn Courtney, Jozie Kirkendall, and Kenzie Johansen Katelynn Titus earned a red ribbon.
Makala Mason was a Finalist in her Small and Companion Proficiency area, placed 2nd overall in that area! To finish our State FFA Convention, members attended the final convention session which celebrates members for earning the highest degree the State FFA Association has to offer. Receiving this degree from the Falls City FFA chapter were; Justin Brewer, Ray Feek, Eliza Kuker, and Makayla Mason. Another good convention for the Falls City FFA Chapter!

Middle school track meet at Syracuse for today is postponed due to forecasted inclement weather.
Baseball game for today vs Horton,Ks. will be moved up to a 4pm start time. Varsity only game will be played.
THANK YOU!! Book BINGO was a success tonight at North School. Thank you to the families who attended, the North School staff who volunteered, P.I.E. for the BINGO cards, daubers, and popcorn, and Dollar Fresh for the water!

Falls City Tiger Football is working in conjunction with the Falls City Flag Football League to put on the Cody Jones Memorial Football Camp. Falls City Coaches and players will be providing instruction to 2nd through 6th graders. Players will assist with Kindergarten and 1st grade players. A schedule is provided below. Registration forms were sent home with students from school. You can also email Blake Amador at blakeamador@yahoo.com if you would like more details. A local donor is covering the cost for all students who would like to attend. We are excited to grow the sport we love here in Falls City!
NJHS students at middle school had an “egg-cellent “ time filling thousands of Easter eggs for elementary students as a community service project with PIE!
The 6-8 grade Pops Choir Concert will be on Monday, April 25th in the HS gym. The concert starts at 7 PM and students need to be there by 6:30PM. Dress code for the concert is their music polo and khakis. Please contact Mrs. Furrow for any questions. Hope to see you there!
FCMS 6th graders read Refugee by Alan Gratz and several chose to further their learning at the Falls City Library and Arts Center Zoom with New York Times bestselling author Ruta Sepetys. The novels are historical fiction.
Falls City golf teams will not be attending the meets today at Hiawatha and Sabetha.
Chase Nolte received a bronze medal at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference for competing in a Star Event. Congratulations, Chase! 🥇 Our Service Project took place at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo with Emma Killingsworth, Madi Scholl & Chase Nolte. Great work FCCLA!
Mark your calendars. The middle school promotion and awards ceremony will be at Prichard Auditorium on May 16 at 6:00PM.
2022 Alumni Mans Basketball bracket for next Saturday.
The 4H classes at FCMS have been doing a fashion unit. Students ventured to the local thrift stores, put together an ensemble, and modeled the ensemble. This group modeled a mashup of 1984, Joe Dirt, and Hawaiian chic. Look for this trend to hit stores later this year!
